WELL THAT ESCALATED QUICKLY

Can you believe that it's actually 2017?
Where has the time went? It seems like only a few months ago Nathan proposed to me on new years eve, but no, it was almost a whole year ago.
Literally the fastest year of my life.

Nathan and I were speaking in the car once and he said "I'm kinda glad that year is over". At first I was like WHY? we got flipping married, but he made a good point, he said "it was the most nerve wracking year ever". It's so true. So many good things happened and I've no idea how they happened but they did and we definitely had help from above. Everything fell into place at the very last minute. It almost wrecked us and killed us. It took everything we had to get where we are today. There were so many 'what if's' and 'maybes'.
My friend Josh told me "It's going to be so worth it"
He was so right...... Actually he's right about everything, he's pretty smart, I miss that dude.

But everything was totally worth it.

And we're so excited for what this year holds, I have a feeling it's going to be a good one.

If you are on the right path, it will always be uphill.

So here are some of my favourite parts!

Nathan came back to Scotland.
We got to go to some of my favourite places from when I was younger and see some people nathan knew on his mission, that was probably my favourite part. Seeing how much these people loved nathan as much as I did. Okay maybe not that much, but he meant a lot to them.

I went through the temple.
And my one of best friends was my escort! I had dreamt of this day since I joined the church. Everything that was taught there has blessed my life ever since.

Ant + Dec went all out.
Tyler has been my friend for as long as I can remember. We were with each other every single day growing up. I had my interview for my visa in London, so Tyler came with me and made a weekend trip out of it. We ate too much Five guys... maybe not enough actually because somehow Five Guys is way better back home. It was seriously the year of concerts, Years & Years, The Vamps and WHO COULD FORGET BUSTED? Really though, we came out of The Vamps and bought tickets for the next again night and we hadn't even left the arena yet.
Go ahead, judge us.

 I moved to America.
Whaaaaaa? Just as I thought I always would. We got awesome landlords and I finally got to decorate my own place.
Spoiler alert: the grass really isn't greener on the other side.
It's pretty dry and brown.
It's definitely greener in Scotland.

I finally started my own business.
Design + photography business called This Wee Bird. I'm so happy I get to work from home and do what I love. I can't wait for it to take off so I can meet lots of amazing people.

We became parents... to a puppy!
She is probably Satan's pet at some parts of the day, but she's so sweet when she wants to be. She learns so fast and grows super fast too... I swear she is Nathan's daughter is dog form. She burps so loud , farts loud and seriously the loudest sleeper, all she does is growl in her sleep.
But hey, puppy's are great preparation for babies right?

One of my besties got engaged!
This amazing couple waited a whole year for each other. Alix joined the church a while after I did all by herself, like us all, she has been through trials, some which I have been through with her. But she has came out so much stronger than ever before. She is an amazing example to me. She used to say to me "Joanna, please just find me a Nathan" well... I guess you gotta be careful what you wish for because she got into a long distance relationship like Nathan and I. Mate was an incredible missionary, he always looked for ways to serve others and he was never negative about anything. They are so freaking good looking and so unbelievably cute. One day you'll make beautiful babies.

My other bestie finally went on a mish!
A mission was all Jody would ever speak about. Everyday she done something to prepare. She was always super excited to serve. Jody, you're the best and Utah misses you.

We had the most humbling experience that we will always remember.
We are just so grateful for this special moment, but it's too sacred to go into. But these women are such amazing examples. They speak truth and doctrine. They made our hearts so full.
So I'll just let the picture speak for itself.
