I can't remember what it's like to be cold. Or to move without making sound effects.
It's too dang hot here all day every day. I've already been shopping for bump friendly wooly cardigans and jumpers for fall and a few pumpkin steamers. Just patiently waiting for kneaders to produce that pumpkin bread and I'll be ready for that chilly weather.
At the 20 week ultrasound they done the anatomy scan and made sure it was definitely a girl and definitely a healthy one. And that she was! Technology is so cool, they can literally see EVERYTHING. The doctor had quite a hard time trying to get all the pictures he needed because she kept moving around so much. I feel like this is a good representation of my life right now. Me trying to get back to sleep after getting up to pee and the baby doing summersaults in my stomach.
Nathan and I finally started getting stuff done. Got a stroller, started on the nursery, decluttered kitchen cupboards and ordered new things for our room to make ourselves feel better at the fact the baby's room is going to be prettier than ours. Seriously, nathan said he just wanted to nap in the middle of the baby's floor.
But with the third trimester nearing, getting everything done is a must right now.
Doing the tiniest of jobs is a task and a half these days. I'm out of breath most of the time, even when I'm sitting down and don't even get me started on working out.
But it's such a magical time and time is passing by soooo quickly. We can't wait to bring my mum and sisters over and meet our baby all in just a short 4 months.
So I thought I'd share a few of my absolute musts that get me by.
Breakfast smoothies
Absolutely perfect breakfast for me because apparently I'm still not over the nausea stage.
Sometimes the texture of things and smell of cooking can put me off everything in one second. So my go to is a blueberry, banana, strawberry and oats smoothie.
Zija Ripstix hydrate
Zija everything is good. These are supplements from Zija that are meant to replace soda. Sometimes drinking water is a task for me without gagging, so I constantly crave something fizzy with flavour. Ripstix are perfect because they are ready to mix into a water bottle, taste great and have soooo much less sugar than an actual fizzy drink.
I use this all over after bathing or just when I'm getting ready for the day. My favourite is using it at night time because it has that calming lavender smell. Recently, I got pretty sunburned and my legs have been peeling baaaad, this stuff has been my life saver. My skin feels better than ever. Not using too many chemicals on my skin, pregnant or not, is a huge thing for me. This has organic, cold-pressed, extra virgin plant oils highly valued in the cosmetic industry for their unique anti-aging properties. It is also rich in palmitoleic, oleic and linoleic acids, vitamins A and C, and other essential oils.
Lets talk Lush:
Just everything Lush actually, shampoo, body soap, hand soap, body conditioner, charity pot, hair moisturizer, lip scrub, shower jelly, masks, massage bars. You name it, I've had it all.
Lush bubble bars & bath bombs
It's my favourite thing way to soften my skin, relax and smell good without actually doing anything. These are Skye's favourite too, she literally tries to jump in at every second she gets. All she knows is that there's a floating ball in the bath and thinks it's hers.
Lush R&B hair moisturizer
Now apparently during pregnancy your hair is suppose to get thick and long at this stage. Mines is looking like I haven't brushed it in years and like it's falling out more and more everyday. I have been using this for YEARS and treat it like gold. Nathan can always tell when I've used it, the smell lasts forever. When I used it religiously a while back my hair dresser would compliment my hair on how much it thickened out. I'm literally on the last few bits of this now and it hurts my heart....and my hair. Just a small dab will keep your hair soft and conditioned all day with a beautiful blend of avocado butter, olive, jojoba and coconut oils and candelilla wax.
Lush Mask of Magnaminty
Kaolin clay and peppermint oil rid your pores of debris, giving you a delightfully tingly clean sensation. My favourite part is scrubbing it off as it exfoliates your skin!
Stretch mark prevention:
Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion & Bio Oil
I have been using bio oil for as long as I can remember and went through countless bottles. It does have a tendency not to rub in great to my skin, but then I got given cocoa butter and I use them both together every night and my belly feels just as soft the next morning as it did when I first put it on.
What an exciting time
